Dark Souls 2- Gonna play it once I've played Dark Souls 1 and maybe Demon's Souls too. I've heard nothing but good about the series though.

Skyrim is fun for the first 100 hours. I remember telling myself how I was going to not stop playing the game but it gets pretty repetitive at a certain point. I just wish I had a better PC to be able to play and mod it on PC.

I hired it once and had no idea wtf was going on then some troll or giant had me corneded and i had no way to escape.

I just finished Watch_Dogs yesterday, which despite some small complaints was another great title I really enjoyed from Ubisoft (Black Flag was the last one, and that was awesome). I've got Murdered: Soul Suspect coming as I preordered it, but reviews say it's pretty bad so looks like I stuff that one up. After that, it's a bit lean for a while...

Yeah new generation into consoles isnt cheap, but I think Watch Dogs was good on PS4, graphics arent all that bad or didnt deserve the backlash they got. Im trying to platinum it, and theres just this one mission thats not showing up in my game and its making me mad.

Aha aw we've all been there at some point, I hope you manage to find the mission you're after :) I think I'm still gonna give it a bit before I go for the next generation, ps3 is suiting me fine and with my ico purchase and the ratchet and clank trilogy purchase I made a while ago, even ps2 is keeping me occupied for now.

@Dolph I had the same issue. Turns out it didn't become available until I'd completed most of the story.

@Yolandi I could never really get into Ico or Shadow of the Colossus back in the PS2 days. Occasionally thought about getting the remaster but ended up with such a huge backlog that I never did.

I've been playing a little of the Destiny beta. And by little, I mean really just a little, probably no more than 3 hours all up, and only a couple of versus matches. It's okay. It has the potential to be a lot of fun but I haven't found a single other person using a microphone in the whole game yet, which makes it all feel a little boring and lonely, which a MMO shouldn't do.

The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 4 releases soon! I can't wait for that!

Yeahh I'll admit actually if it wasn't for the nostalgia factor for me I think I'd find it difficult getting into Ico and Colossus as much as I am now.

Is the Walking Dead game any good? I've heard mostly bad reviews but I'm such a huge fan of the show I always contemplate giving the games a try

@blackout I completed the whole story, and the fixer contracts, its just this one convoy mission that doesnt want to show up. I know which one it is but its just not coming up. I'll surf the net for answers though.

@yolandi yeah PS3 still has a big library that it wont matter about upgrading. Theres just too much to play. PS4 needs more games, give it a year i think there will be plenty.

I'm pretty sure I had the same thing. I can't remember how I got it to appear though. I think it was just after completing other side missions. It eventually appeared.

The Walking Dead game, at least the ones produced by Telltale and based on the comics, are fantastic. First Season was better than Season Two has been, but I've really enjoyed all eight episodes so far. The only complaint I have is that it only presents the illusion of choice - you can choose to save someone, but they're very likely to die an episode or two later, for example. The way your choices influence dialogue, though, is very well done. Ultimately, the story remains the same while motivations change, and the story itself is pretty brilliant throughout season 1, while season 2 feels a bit unfocused by comparison.

I Just watch the episodes on youtube. :P some of those guys reactions are hilarious. You guys ever play that survival horror game Outlast? Some of the scariest moments in gaming for me in that game.

Anyone besides me excited for 2K15?  I'm setting money aside already - and I do intend to get the pre-order.  Bastards released it last year nearer to Christmas so that's what the wife bought me... then she was a darling and took the young lady for a day so I could just get some solid time in playing it.

"Eras of Sting" is the pre-order kicker, Cena's on the cover due to his 15 Time world titles - not that I care much about him, but w/e. And I believe this one has the largest roster to date.

Yeah im going to pick it up, they need to release gameplay for it already. I think the day before summerslam they're going to reveal the roster.

That's exactly what I'm like with them too. The only one I still play with as much fun as I used to have when it first came out is Here Comes the Pain. I'm contemplating preordering 2k15 just for Sting though...

Its the same developers (yukes), just that visual concepts (guys behind the 2k sports games) are also pitching in. Hope its a better one though.

I've played a bit of Prison Architect today. I haven't played it in a while, and it's been updated a lot, so much more depth than I thought they were doing. Got lost, but managed to get a half decent little prison up and running. Will try for a big one, soon, but I think that's going to require a lot of planning.

I bought Destiny. The beta was okay, and I think if I put more time into it I'm going to enjoy it. Bought TLOU Remastered, too, because I found it cheap. Gonna have fun with that on the Astros.

Slowly moving through The Wolf Among Us. Three episodes in, not grabbing me the same way The Walking Dead did, but still pretty good.

What else... oh! Been playing Fifa be a pro mode. Pro is up to OVR 77 halfway through second season, playing for Espanyol in BBVA. Just a timewaster more than anything.

Thinking about kicking up an older RPG, maybe a KOTOR replay or something.

I played Murdered. It was okay, but pretty short, and not a lot of real gameplay.

I've been working through TLOUR pretty slowly, trying to collect everything as I go, and have got through to Pittsburgh missing only a few conversations. Still not a fan of the hotel basement sequence but since I knew what I was doing I got in there and out really quickly.

Honestly, a lot of people are pissed about this being the year of the remastered games, but I love it. I welcome more to be honest. Old games like Mechassault or Brute Force or Banjo.

Beat Tomb Raider. It was a good game

Is this the ps3 one? I was pleasantly surprised with that game after hearing such negative reviews. 

PS4's Definitive Edition. I thought it was good, it was kind of like Uncharted with the climbing aspect, and the adventure quality. But the game had a darker mood than Uncharted games, and the crossbow that Lara uses is just too badass. It holds a 87 on metacritics, I think thats pretty good. I usually don't go by what Critics say, mostly if friends or someone I know recommend the game is what makes me get games. Like that game Beyond: Two Souls, it had mediocre reviews from critics, but when I played it, I liked it. Tomb Raider was a good game though with a story thats someone easy to follow and great cinematics. If you have never played Tomb Raider on PS3 and are thinking of getting the next console, then get the Definitive Edition, that one has better graphics.

All this talk has made me want to do an Uncharted marathon now. No doubt about it, that's my favourite game franchise of all time. I need to find me a Nate in real life...

I'll just wait for the Uncharted collection which is sure to drop a couple of months before Uncharted 4. Or maybe just pull out the PS3 if I want to play them, but for me they've mostly been a once and done type of game. Fiddled with the multiplayer a little bit.

I've never actually done multiplayer on it because I rarely play online. The replay value for those games for me though is infinite, I can't imagine ever getting bored of them.

And it's pretty cool. For now, I'm having more fun with the story and patrol missions. The PvP leaves a bit to be desired as it feels pretty unbalanced. I've seen people do things I didn't even know you could do, and it's only a couple of days old.

10. I'm playing as a Titan since that's what I used most in the beta. Missions are becoming a little easy now that I'm used to the AI.

Actually level 20 is the soft cap. You stop levelling up through experience then earn "Motes of Light" which you used to convert into powerful armour that shows you as a higher level.

Im level 3, i got the first 2 stort missions done. Are the raids like special missions?

Up to level 14 now. Played a half dozen PVP games too, and the balance is just awful. Anyone with a high level dominates and the spawn points need work, as I've respawned right in front of an enemy a few times already.

Having a blast with killing aliens though.

I think they will fix that with a patch. The game is good and i love the cross between Borderlands and Halo style.

They need to patch voice chat too. You can't speak to anyone unless they're in your fireteam.

So I just did the Sword of Crota mission. Kinda pissed I wasn't allowed to keep it tbh :')

Unfortunately, that's really the only time they tweak the gameplay during the story. I've finished the story, btw, with a level 20 Titan. Haven't done all the strikes but jumped into MP and instantly I felt I was doing better. Not great, but better. Might restart with a Warlock soon.

Yeahh I gave multiplayer a try, soon realised I need to level up a hell of a lot more before I try that again haha. I'm a level 8 Awoken Male Hunter, I was tempted to go for Warlock too, but I tend to go for mages quite frequently in games like this so felt like a change. I like that you can do the story with multiple characters without having to overwrite files :)

My friends and I played crucible yesterday, it was that hardpoint type game mode against level 20's and damm i can see why you said its so unbalanced. I mean i was a level 8, my friends are level 20's but it took me for ever just to kill one guy. We won the match though, overall its fun.

Is that the mode where your equipment doesn't scale?

Even in the modes where your equipment is scaled, you still have items at a higher level with better fire rate/stability  and weapons that can be upgraded still have their perks (like faster reloads). It's really not worth doing Crucible until you're at least around level 15/16 and have some decent weapons/armour.

What are the best weapons/armour you've picked up so far?

I'm getting armour at the moment adding +60 to a stat, and weapons doing just under 200 damage. Most missions have become an absolute breeze unless I end up completely surrounded. Strikes though... they're always pretty tough.

Yeah i see what you mean, i have shitty armor and they were killing me fast. But i still held my own, 1.3 kd first game.

I got a lot better once I had a gun with high stability/low recoil and scope. Just tears players apart in a second if I get my aim right.

I just had my most dominant game ever, finished with 25 kills and 11 captures @2.27.

I just got to level 10 and just unlocked Venus so I might give the crucible another try in another level up or 2 :)

Go replay a few lower level story missions using bounties, and make sure you can just waltz through it. Then you'll probably have a playstyle that will suit you for the MP.

Yeah the bounties help out. The easiest is the 6 side missions on Old Earth.

I've started a warlock. Might as well start up the Hunter too while I'm at it. Not sure what weapons to use with them. Thinking scout rifle for warlock and maybe hand cannon for hunter

I can't get interested in Dragon Age or Bloodborne yet. Might be something I eventually pick up a long way down the road.

Destiny's going okay. Got my first piece of Legendary gear yesterday, a rocket launcher call "The Cure". Found a farming guide and ended up with Rare items in all equipment slots, and managed enough items with Light that I've hit level 21. I've also got a classes with the other characters on the side at level 7, having only completed the Earth missions.

I did exactly that with Dragon Age, then I bought Origins like a year after it came out and got hooked.

Destiny's missions are getting a bit samey for my liking. Like, it's almost always going through waves of enemies until you fight a boss, or going through waves of enemies, deploying the ghost to get info and then fighting of 3 or 4 more waves of enemies while the ghost does that. I just started a new book so I'm thinking that'll take my attention for the next day or so; hopefully Destiny will feel more refreshing after that.

Also, can you only start finding Legendary items when you reach level 20?

See, I'm trying to decide if I want to keep the xbone and playou Destiny with the guys I work with abs then trade it for a ps4 later on, or just trade it straight away and play Destiny with you lot (who I tend to like better) and then already have the ps4 when Bloodborne cones out....

I think you can find legendary items sooner, they're just really rare and you have to get really lucky. Most legendaries require to be at least level 18 before you can use them, I think.

And yes, story mode is very samey. Rush to the boss at the end, or wait for Dinklbot to trip the alarm then survive 3 waves. Enemy variety kind of helps, though.

You know whats pssing me off? All the games i want are releasing november 18  >:( Grand Theft Auto V, Far Cry 4, WWE15,Dragon Age likw wtf publishers i dont got 250 bucks for games.

The only one of those I'm definitely getting is GTAV. I feel that the others will drop significantly in price by the time I'm ready for them.

Dave what's the farming guide you found?

On the mission "The Dark Within" or something like that, the first one you do on the Moon... when the temple door opens kill as many enemies as you can without entering the temple, but NOT the Knight. Killing the Knight activates the next check point. Let yourself die, you'll respawn as the doors open again, and any dropped loot will still be there. Repeat over and over again. Lots of green engrams. Generally in a 30 minute period, at level 20+, I was getting 15-20 greens and 5-6 blues. Some people get purples too.

Aha that's exactly the one I found on youtube too :P I've been doing it for a while now and can only seem to find greens, I guess I'll try it again in a few levels from now to get some blues or hopefully purples...

Even if you get blues hold on to them until you're level 20, because they scale to your level then. All the legendary stuff I've got so far came from blues.

Do you know if doing it on higher levels increases the likelihood of rarer pickups?

I know you have to reach certain levels before the blue and purple engrams drop but I think once you hit those levels it's a fixed rate. Just luck, mostly. It's annoying. Everything in the game is set up for a grind. Grind to get engrams, grind to get upgrade materials, grind grind grind. Just a little bit more reward would make it so much better. Double the drop rate or something. That way I can generate the weapon parts I need to upgrade the weapons when they're ready for the upgrade. And **** Ascendant Energy/Shards? I've been playing since launch and I only have 3 combined and my helmet needs 18 all up to upgrade. This **** is ridiculous.

Yeahh it does get a bit tedious having to do all this =\ I just hit level 20 and I'm farming at level 20 and have picked up 2 rares and 5-6 uncommons in 315 kills and 38 deaths...

Every god damn time. I've had three Legendary Engrams so far, and every single one of them has converted to Blue "Knight" armour, only one of which was better than the armour I already had. And Blue engrams, I keep getting class ones and what do you know, I keep getting the EXACT SAME class item, Mark of the Bulwarks... which I am already wearing! And let's talk about multiplayer awards, I thought maybe after playing a few games I'd get a random drop at the end game. But whether I dominate, struggle, or sit firmly in the middle, I rarely ever get a post-game reward.

God dammit, what does it take to get some goddamn decent loot.

Well, there was five hours between posts... and I only got it by scrounging up enough Strange Coins by soloing level 22 Phogoth.

That sounds like a pretty good idea for getting coins actually, might have to use that technique. I've just been farming for the past half hour and have about 6 rare items to check out so hopefully there's something good in them...

I did the Weekly Heroic Strike, guaranteed 3 coins if you beat it, up to 9 on highest difficulty (no way I could solo that though)

So completing a Queen's Favor mission nets you a legendary item, and you need to complete a bounty to get a "pass" to go on the missions.

I'm still only level 21, so doing a level 24 mission would render me all but useless, lol.  Lemme get some gear and we'll talk.

Also, if anyone playing Destiny on PS4 is interested in a clan, let me know.  Some friends of mine put one together, Brotherly Lust.

Oh, and if you want some legendary gear, do the Queen's stuff. I've solo'd two missions now, with two pieces of legendary gear, which will suffice until I get something better suited for my gamestyle. It's not new missions, just old ones jacked up to level 24, and if you get something really hard like The Black Garden you can just warp to orbit and reselect getting a new mission. Using this I managed to complete Restoration (the one you were doing the first time I joined your game) and The Shrine of Oryx, both with relative ease - just some resistant shields in the way every now and then. I'd be happy to roll through a few with you, after a couple of missions you should be able to get to level 23.

Frustrated with Decoherent Engrams always turning Green, Dave says to Jim, "you know, it'd be nice if just once a blue engram turned into a legendary". Literally next minute Blue Engram becomes Legendary Fusion Rifle. :D

No just items that give light bonuses. Some rares will have them, but the bigger bonuses (and higher levels) come from legendary gear.

Let's talk about something else. Destiny should probably have had it's own topic. There's still a lot to talk about for that.

But Shadow of Mordor. Releases in a few days everywhere but Australia (us poor bastards have two more weeks to wait). Reviews have started coming in, and they're positive. Sounds like the Nemesis system is legit awesome (which honestly, I had my doubts about) and combat is a slightly more lenient version of the Rocksteady Arkham games with GORE.

I haven't really heard anything about it other than "It's gonna be f*cking awesome!"  So, I'll wait and see and maybe pick it up a little after the fact.

Bandwagons I am jumping on, however:

Smash Brothers for 3DS comes out next Friday, so I'll be all on that.

And Lords of the Fallen.  Looks like a legit mash up of a grungy Legend of Zelda atmosphere with Dark Souls style gameplay.  Take two of my favorite games and put them together into one?  D*mn right I'm on board.

The better news is they're fixing the cryptarch in the next patch - blue engrams will always net rare or better, purple engrams will always net legendary or better (or both probably still have a chance for materials).

But yea, far as the cave goes, it's just one of those things that slips past all the testing and then when it launches, someone finds it an exploits it until it gets patched, happens with most every game.

P.S.  Beyond just fixing the Cryptarch, I'd like to see a way where you could just buy things like Spinmetal for Glimmer or something like that, or make an easier way to farm it, this is gonna take forever to upgrade my gear...

I just replayed Super Mario Sunshine today for the first time in about 8 years and now I'm in love with it all over again.

Been spending today levelling my Warlock and Hunter in Destiny. Both at 18, at the moment, and neither have stepped foot on Mars.

I wish I could play...my T'S lamp is going out so it's dark as hell.

All my characters are at level 20 or higher now. Plus I just got a second exotic weapon bounty (for the pulse rifle, Pocket Infinity). Hope I can finish this one easier than the other one I picked.

Hey what's your guys take on Zombie games now? I mean are you fed up with the amount of them, want more zombie games or don't care? If so are you guys ready for Dead Island 2 and Dying Light?

I saw both of their games plays and I gotta say Dying Light looks more appealing. I like the mirrors edge style of parkour in a zombie environment. It looks like its going to be a fun co op game.

Yea, I feel like over the last few years (starting around 2009 w/ Zombieland) the whole Zombie market got more than just a little bit over-saturated really quickly.  It's turned me off to most things zombie-related.  There have been a few shining stars like The Last of Us (I know, I know... "not really zombies", but they're still zombies.), but yea, for the most part, when I hear "It's got zombies in it!", there goes all of my interest, right out the window.

Yeah the last of us was good. And also I enjoy the walking dead game and TV show. But whatever else that comes out is just meh.  Left 4 Dead 2 was good. Valve should make Left 4 Dead 3, but Valve doesn't know how to count to 3. All their franchises stop at 2. But I just want a fun zombie game to play co-oply.

Here's my extended thoughts:

The zombie has been a staple of video gaming diets for a very long time. In one form or another, pretty much every game will have an enemy that just comes straight for you trying to kill you. It's probably the easiest way to go with enemy AI - I'd imagine programming a monster to just run up to you and hit/bite/whatever is a lot easier than one that thinks or uses cover. So in that regard, a zombie is the perfect fodder enemy, whether it's an actual zombie or Blinky from Pac-man, they're a viable, simple way to create tension and an obstacle for the player to overcome.

However, this has been going on for decades now. We need something fresher. Modern zombie games thrive not because of the zombies, but in spite of them. Left 4 Dead became a hit not because you slaughtered hordes on your way to the finish line. The game would've been dull as **** if it wasn't for the occassional special infected with unique attack patterns. The Last of Us, as brilliant as it was, didn't shine in it's gameplay during fights with zombies. The stealth mechanics, though basic, did present tension, but try picking a fight out in the open with the zombies, and it's a mess - instead, the fights with human enemies who could and would flank you, sneak up on you, and that sort of thing, were by far the best encounters in the game, even if skulking through a nest of Clickers was more memorable for the tension.

And Dead Rising has made a name for itself not on the zombies, but the multitude of zombie killing tools at your disposal. Chainsaws taped to a paddle, and all the other little things, are what make this game fun - not just shooting zombies.

Dying Light and Dead Island 2, for me, seem to present a bit of a problem. They're trying to add things to the zombie genre that aren't as exciting. For Dead Island 2, it's more of the same weapon construction as Dead Rising, but for my mind, Dead Island didn't get this right at all, making the crafted weapons far too brittle. And Dying Light just seems to be adding free-running, which is not really exciting at all. It's much more straight forward. I haven't been following the game too much, but it looks just like a zombie game where you can also run and climb in first person. That's not enough of a hook to have me interested.

There's also tonal issues. Playing it silly works for Dead Rising, but it feels forced in Dead Island. Dying Light seems to be opting for a more serious approach from what I've seen, but it lasts the immensely personal character drama of a game like The Last of Us or Telltale's The Walking Dead. And if you have a serious game without that kind of drama, or memorable characters, it's just not going to work.

I don't mind if people get excited for zombies. I love them, I watch a lot of films a year, addicted to The Walking Dead, and have played my fair share with the traditional flesh-eating monsters... I just want to see more than just a braindead enemy coming straight for me. And not a lot of games offer that anymore.

Actually yeah, I didn't see that. Driveclub free version gives you 11 tracks and 10 cars with ability to purchase the PS+ upgrade edition (which I don't see a price for). Cool way to test out with a much more extensive demo that what you'd normally get.

I should get Shadow of Mordor in 2 or 3 days. More Destiny grinding until then.

I've been playing Crusader Kings 2 on PC lately, and there is a Game of Thrones mod and it is amazing. Kind of wish they would make an official one with Total War like live action battles.

Yea, I got a little burnt out on it.  It was like, as soon as I hit Level 2 Vanguard and got all purple gear, it was like, "Well, what's there left to grind for?"

Upgrades for the gear. Exotic weapons and armour. Secondary characters. But now my secondary characters are level 25 and every incremental gain takes a lot of work.

I don't have a 360 anymore, got tired of buying new ones. Funny how I had 4 360s before the one came out and have had the same PS3 for 10 years and my Xbox replacement PS3 for 3 years. I couldn't keep an Xbox working brand new for more than a year, which is sad because I like Microsoft but I guess if the Air Force uses 20 ps3s daisy chained together as a super computer because nothing else was powerful enough, says a lot to me.

With that said, I want to buy an Xbox one so bad but would hate to fall back into monthly access and yearly system purchases.

I'm rubbish at video games i play football manager 2013 and get sacked every time i play it so yeah I don't play a lot of games.

I play with this guy pretty regularly, and rarely does he score a K/D ratio of better than 0.5. And yet he never gets angry or frustrated with the game, just keeps playing. Meanwhile, if I get below 1.0 I get angry.

I did on PS4, so here's the story...I get off from work 1130pm, go home change clothes and tell the wife,  then hauled ass to Gamestop, then come to find out they just shut down, but I get there at 1245am. So I washed gas and time to be with the wife. So since I was in town I go to Walmart to pick up dog food.  Well I get told I have 5 mins to shop cuz they close at 1am. Well I was able to get the dog food at least!

Ouch. Bit harsh to call it. It's pretty standard so far but the extra tech stuff makes it feel a little like Destiny. Destiny is way better, sure, but CoD always has had great gunplay and this doesn't seem to be an exception. Decided to challenge myself with Veteran mode straight away, first mission took longer than expected because of it.

Is anyone else excited for the new installment of the Dragon Age series? I love the games so far and the concept of an inquisition with some dragons gets me going. It's not as good as the elder scrolls series but it is a good substitute until the next comes out. Currently I have been kicking it old school over the last year with Legend of Dragoon being I never beat it when it came out in 99. So this would be a good change of pace.

So anyone excited or am I alone in this?

I never did beat the first one, and never played the second one, but if I hear good things about this one, I'll probably pick it up eventually.

I beat the first one repeatedly, the second was alright, I didn't like the fighting platform they changed but this one is supposed to rival skyrim but I'll be the judge of that.

I'm not sure. I couldn't get into Origins despite starting it multiple times, but I played once through Dragon Age 2 and liked it well enough. Perhaps further down the line I'll get an Ultimate Edition or something. Not one I need now.

Unfortunantly I'm a sucker for those 50 hour in game RP's. I enjoy first person shooters but im not into the online part as much. It's fun for a while but I lose interest. The offline game play I burn through in a few hours and I feel like I over paid for the game. I wish I could get more into it, but I rather shoot the real guns, and that's just my stubbornness and bias mentality. I do enjoy the call of duty titles and army of two series, but I have bad adhd so yeah.

Like i said earlier in this thread I'm not one for games but I'm thinking of getting a shoot em game for the pc, Are there any good ones out there that are pretty easy to use for a total beginner?

You can't go wrong with the Call of Duty series. If you play through the offline parts it will give you a step by step tutorial on what to do. Once you feel comfortable, you can play online with other people. Most shooters have the tutorial, but those are the most popular.

Starwars has a lot of PC games as well. I have played a few of them, but it comes down to what type you want. An adventure where you are a character or one where you build up a fleet and attack other groups in game. For that I would research online what some of the top ones are. I used to play Eve and that was pretty fun for a while, like Star Wars, but in its own little universe where you build ships and take on other players online. It was pretty fun but it became too time consuming for me to keep up with everyone else playing the game.

Maybe someone else may have a better suggestion, but that is what I have.

There's not a lot of big games with space combat, but there's some games from smaller production companies that focus on it. Strike Suit Zero is one that comes to mind.

COD Aw is pretty fun, but I'd wait to get it until the small bad stuff is fixed. Spawn problems on like every map but the new movement is pretty fun.

There are some excellent Star Wars space battle games.  However, none have been within the last ten years.  So if you can deal with the graphics, sound, and gameplay of a game that old (I, for one, can, but I know people that just can't deal with it), then look for those.

I beat Destiny's raid again. Got: Raid boots, raid cloak, Hard Light (exotic auto rifle), legendary ship, and, for the third time, Atheon's Epilogue.

I'll gladly take that Hard Light off your hands if it's overburdening you....

The rest of the raid team did not fair so well with drops from that chest. They were not happy.

In other news, I now know my way through the raid pretty perfectly, so I can sherpa people if need be.

Got my Call of Duty Modern war fare and it's bloody hard and keep on getting killed lol.

This one's for Jim. Remember likwidsolutions? Every time I join a game, he's there jumping in too. Every time I get into a raid party, he joins the raid party and starts suggesting we kick out the lowest level player and bring him in. Just now, I joined a fireteam looking for a 6th to do Atheon. Before I even get in the game, he joins the party chat and starts saying we'll probably fail because of a level 26 in our team and his level 29 will make it so much easier. After three or four attempts (and getting sick of his ****), a player leaves the team/chat and likwid jumps in. For the next 45 minutes likwid consistently fucks up by not shooting Oracles, trying and failing to use the Relic, and says "I'm doing fine, not sure why we keep failing". He even once stepped out of the relic shield to fire a rocket (died instantly).

**** hell. Every raid I've been on with this guy, we've struggled to get our **** together. For someone who keeps saying he knows what he's doing and that we're guaranteed to finish it with him... I've never finished the raid with him.

And through it all, he never shuts the **** up.

If I stop playing Destiny, this will be why.

Joined a group of randoms, gatekeepers down on third attempt, Atheon down on second (after someone DCed). Because honestly, it's not that hard (I soloed a gatekeeper).

Ok so I don't play destiny

So I just got an Xbox One, and Halo Collection. First impression of console: quite bigger than PS4, the controller still takes AA batteries (ew) but I do like the rumble triggers. The console's UI is not bad either, but I prefer ps4's over it. I mostly got the Xbox for the exclusive s. I will be playing multi plats and game sessions mostly on my PS4.

Anyone getting the upgraded GTA V? I'm probably going to abandon Destiny for it for a while. Last night I was playing Vault of Glass and just had horrible experiences with glitches and guys using underlevelled gear trying to take down Atheon. Signs should've been obvious when they were dying defending confluxes before the templar. It's sort of soured me on the game, so tonight/tomorrow I'm gonna try and finished Advanced Warfare.

Yup pre-ordered from the PS store and ready to play that midnight!

Well I just finished Advanced Warfare's campaign mode. I have to say, it feels like it was the easiest COD campaign by far. I completed in on Veteran with only a couple of sections giving me trouble, and even then once I stepped back and just used a lot of cover, I got through it pretty easy.

That's funny I just started the campaign of COD AW LOL! it is really is, but fun and amazing graphics.

So the next time I wandered into GameStop was today, and I felt like buying GTA V....

I'm doing the same. Tried first person, didn't really like it, then realised it was because I had to readapt to GTA controls (I have to do this every time I stop playing the game for a while).

Makes it a bit harder. If you had a playstation or xbox, the easy answer would be Gran Turismo or Forza. For PC, there's more options, but less quality. Probably the best one available, from my understanding, is Dirt 3, but that's also probably going to test your machine a bit even though it's three years old.

Yeah. Lately the driving game industry has moved towards a more arcade style of game, but it does seem to be swinging back towards the sim side of things. Unfortunately for you, most of those games appear to be on consoles.

I think my faith in Destiny has been restored a bit. Last two nights I've raided twice with the same 2 or 3 guys, super laidback, know what they're doing, and the raid has never been easier for me. It makes so much of a difference when you have guys who know exactly what their role is even with RNG picking it for them.

LittleBigPlanet didn't really do much for me (I played 2, though, not 3). Far Cry games are pretty fun. Destiny has become like crack to me, it takes a lot of work to upgrade your characters and a lot of repetition involved.

Bought Dragon Age on Friday. By Monday night I've played 24 hours o.O

Game is huge. I've unlocked Skyhold and my specialisation class, as well as what appears to be 95% of quests in the Hinterlands. Still so much more to do. Found the dragon in the Hinterlands. Tried to fight it. Ran away quickly.

Wait, you're at Skyhold at 24 hours?  Slow down, you're moving too fast.  I was at 38 hours before I got there, lol.

I got there about 4 hours ago. I'm not moving too fast I needed more stuff to open up. Now I have a lot of new areas which I'll explore before going onto the next story stuff.

I did everything I possibly could at my level before closing the breach, and that put me getting to Skyhold at 38 hours.  And then I opened up more areas than I had already cleared, and I was just like "Jesus Christ this is a huge game..."

Well, I probably left a few things. I wanted to get to levelling my specialisation so I found out I had to do it after getting Skyhold, so I just advanced that far.

So far, one thing's disappointing me a bit: the characters. While there are a few that are fun and interesting (Dorian, Sera, Varric, Iron Bull, and I recently met Cole, who despite the emo hair cut seems pretty cool), for the most part I don't really want to go talk to Cassandra, Solas, Vivienne or Blackwall, or the other half dozen non party members you can converse with. A budding romance with Josephine has my character talking to her a lot, as the politics are pretty interesting. I noticed a few romance options with Dorian but I think he and my character are best suited as bros (after the awkward conversation with Giselle about rumours of manlove, they kind of just said lolno we bros). The straight romance options for males appear to be Cassandra and Josephine, which is disappointing. Not against RPing gay but I just feel that it makes more sense to be friends with the guys.

I'm playing as a warrior too which may not have been the best move. I mixed and matched for a little but respecced a little while ago to focus on being a Champion and just having Guard all the time, so running as a tank while Iron Bull destroys, Varric or Sera turn enemies into pincushions, and Dorian just blows everyone up.

I also sent Leliana on a 16 hour mission. Just 12 hours to go!

Yea, I went warrior, and I love it.  Just incapacitate **** w/ stuns and pound on 'em.  I'm working on the romance w/ Josephine as well, but I plan to play through again and go for the Sera romance line.  But yea, I basically take Sera, Iron Bull, and Dorian with me for my party, and outright ignore everyone that's not giving me sex (see also: everyone except Josephine).

I'm torn what my second will be. Perhaps a mage that sides with the templars. For the lulz.

My warrior has been very diplomatic and sided with the mage and welcomed everyone warmly.  My rogue is gonna be a ****, side with the templars, and only welcome people that impress her.

Yeah, most of my decisions have been diplomatic or stuff that would directly benefit the inquisition without putting someone else out. Except Alexius. I decapitated that guy.

So I was just playing around and discovered I can make Vivienne pretty much unbeatable.

Did you get any further Jim? I completed the Grey Warden main story mission, which was pretty fun. I'm struggling to see how all the extras are taking you a lot longer than they took me. A lot of it seems to be go to point A, kill some guys and grab an item.

It's the last story mission. Basically in that cutscene whatshisface says you'd have to be nuts to go after him, hence the third option being "deathwish". Deathwish is the only option I've taken in my playthroughs, although thematically the other choices could make sense too.

So I have 4 characters in Inquisition now. One level 19, one level 6, and two fresh out the Haven gate. I can't help it. The guys on Reddit have got some great character builds, so now I have my Human, Elf, Dwarf and Qunari for when I want to play them.

I picked a Qunari for my first one. It was one of those"...oh giant chick with horns? Higher resistance to physical damage? I'm down!" moments.

I'm really considering making a human though... notice any huge differences in how it is playing each of them? Or is it a personal preference for your character sort of thing?

It's just little dialogue things every now and then. People are a little bit subtley racist towards my elf, and she has a lot of dialogue options relating to her Dalish heritage (whereas the human I've mained didn't really).

Still havent finished story on any of my characters, though I believe my first is almost there. Just sort of putting it off but I don't know why.

Can't wait for the expansion, new jobs, new raids, yesty.

So now the only trophies I need are for upgrading potions and killing ten high dragons (this one, I should have got on my first playthrough, but it glitched and didn't unlock).

Back home and looking for something to play. Kind of dropped Destiny. Feel like I've missed a lot and don't want to catch up. Another Inquisition playthrough sounds appealing, but a lot of work for the same base experience. Was thinking about using a voucher to pick up something else. Any opinions? I'm most interest in Witcher 3 and Arkham Knight, but I'm willing to let those decline in value first. I'd like an RPG though, so maybe Witcher 3 will be it.

If you liked Inquisition, you'll love Witcher.  I haven't played it nearly as much, been busy, but the few hours I've put onto it, I feel like they took all of the best parts of Inquisition, Skyrim, and Dark Souls, and none of the bad parts, and put them all together into one game.

I did enjoy Witcher. I think I loved Gwent too much though.

I finished the story in Mad Max. I have to say, Max as a character is one of the least likeable main characters I've played as since he makes (and thus the game forces you into) decisions that are very self-serving and even straight up evil against people he should be caring about. I'll probably keep playing till I clear out the remaining camps but after that I think I'll be done with it.

Probably. At first it was pretty awkward but when you get the mechanics down and start expanding the starter deck or trying the other decks, it can get pretty fun. Downside is that it gets easy and you can usually tell by the end of the first round if you'll win.

I'm not much of a banwagoner, and if people like them cool, but I have gotten a lot of heat from people when I say, eh its alright, so I just keep off of my personal thoughts of things. But I agree with your comments about crash, even though I loved it in the past.

I'm a retro collector/gamer you see, so even though remastered games will be better graphically,  the game play was designed for a totally different console.

Don't think you will ever beat the ps1 versions.

Well, in Naughty Dog's defense, they did innovate with Uncharted and Last of Us leading the way for cinematic action games. People have been wishing for a new Crash for a long time. A remaster might be the first step towards that. I'll probably grab it if it goes on sale.

Uncharted was well done, but I wasn't too impressed by the follow ups, but I rarely am, Last of Us was nice, but it wasn't worth a second run through, I tried. Dishonored is like that, I love that game, but the second one, not too excited about. Not saying that they aren't good games, obviously some people do, but how many people who bought those games have played those over and over again like say Oblivion? I get it not cinematic, and different types of games, but it's the problem with those types of games. Once you've seen a movie, you may like it, but when you know how it turns out, why watch it again right away?

My brother used to watch the Sweeney Todd film (with Johnny Depp) literally every day for about 3 months. Obviously this is an extreme but I finish games then restart them all the time. The alternative is to keep dishing out on new or subpar experiences. And some I definitely don't revisit but come back to every few months, e.g. Skyrim, or Mass Effect which I'm replaying for the (lost count) umpteenth time.

And I agree, there are always exceptions, Skyrim is like that for me as well, but then again, most games these days are not 40+ in game hours either. I just haven't seen much of a forward moving game, and there is nothing wrong if other do, obviously they are popular and a lot of people like them, but yeah. Just once I go through them once, maybe twice, I tend to already know the story and get bored already. Just an opinion

I got bored of Mass Effect because I've played through that one way too many times, so I downloaded an end game save file and played four hours straight of ME2 yesterday. Much more enjoyable.

I also gave Lords of the Fallen a go. I downloaded it while it was on Games with Gold and so far... I'm thoroughly unimpressed. Feels so clunky. Beat the first boss then got to the next checkpoint but wasn't really engaged with it at all, and I had a glitch where all the spoken audio didn't play so it was just frustrating. Never been one for the Souls type of game though.

Still need to start Witcher expansions. It's been forever since I played the main game though so gonna have to relearn it before launching in.

Lords of the Fallen was just poorly executed.  It was sold to me as "Dark Souls meets Zelda".  Well, if Dark Souls was clunky with bad mechanics, and not well executed, maybe.  And I never did find the Zelda mechanics of the game, and I played further through it than you did.  I had to force myself to get that far, but yea...  Just not a good game.

I wish I had time for games, I am taking time off work just to play a game I didn't even realized 12 years has passed between games. working 50+ hours a week will do that.... adulating sucks and now I know why so many kill themselves....

Anyone get No Man's Sky? Wasn't hyped about it, but knew I wanted it, and I've been enjoying it so far, but then again I've always had a thing for repetitive games. I like that I can spend an hour exploring a planet or two, getting some blueprints for upgrades and then jump to a new system so I can start the process again next time I log on.

Naming stuff is a **** though. You can name star systems, planets and their moons, and the flora and fauna on the planets. I haven't bothered with most flora and fauna but I have been naming my planets whatever random thing I can think of.

Definitely not 10/10 masterpiece best of all eternity forever and always as some people seemed to think it would be. But I knew what I was getting, I got it, I like it.

Yeah, it's not for everyone. There's no way I'd suggest my brother get it, for example. And there's lots of little frustrations, but the part of me that doesn't want to think too much beyond "I gotta get to the next destination" loves it. If I want an RPG, I got heaps of them. If I want a shooter, I got heaps of them. If I want a relaxing time moving across alien landscapes collecting materials, I've got it now.

I've been really enjoying it, not my typical kind of game, but I find it enjoyable. It's the kind of game I could set down for two months to play something else, come back to it, and not have that feeling of "What the **** was I doing.... oh well, guess I'll just start over..."

I don't think you'd need to start over... it's so goddamn far to the centre that you could just jump to the next star system and it'd feel like starting over.

So last night in NMS I found a planet that just had Sac Venom pods literally everywhere. Spent an hour or two collecting them (when you mine one, the sentinels alert and the elite sentinel starts chasing you, so I'd grab as many as I could then race back to a building to clear the alert) and ended up getting 5 million units, enough to buy a new spaceship with 25 cargo spots. Now I don't have to frantically search for trading posts or space stations every 10 minutes. Makes exploring on planet a bit more comfortable.

I ended up on a planet that never gets above -30C and that has been interesting to try and figure out lmao! I only just started. It gave me an option of finding a a few places, but I chose to look for a shelter. Hopefully that helps. Tons of green gold though!  Any pointera would be amazing

Colonial outposts and transmissions are better than Shelters, for the most part. Usually there's an alien and a multi tool upgrade schematic. Transmissions also sometimes lead you to crashed ships which you can repair, like the first one, and sometimes they have more inventory space so it's worth investing in.

General tips: in your exosuit inventory, resources stack to 250. In your ship's inventory, though, they stack to 500. Mine a lot of plutonium, helpful for planet exploration since it's what your launch thrusters use. Much easier to hop from waypoint to waypoint by ship than walk all over. If you're just walking you can end up several minutes hike back to your ship, or you can occassionally find outposts with ship call stations, but you need bypass chips to use them. Follow the path of the Atlas early on, until you get your Atlas Pass v1 at least - don't worry about getting further from the galactic core, your later progress will speed things up. Learn as many alien words as you can - but even having a lot still makes some conversations guess work. Don't bother with spaceship upgrades early on. If you're attacked, don't worry about dying, you can go back and collect your stuff when you respawn, and there's no penalty in doing so.

If you get a new multitool, make sure it has the analysis upgrade and if not, install one. Scan everything, then go into the Options menu and upload it for easy credits. Important early on, but when you start finding resource rich planets credits are pretty plentiful.

I got lucky and landed on another planet filled with Sac Venom after I jumped to the next system. Haven't found a local trading post so farming is labourious at the moment, but I can get up to 400k units a planet to space station run. Think I'll keep going until I have enough more for an even bigger spaceship and exosuit storage space upgrades.

I need to find some Gravitino Balls so I can upgrade my suit's shielding as well. Damn things seem impossible to find.

Yep, when you die, a marker appears in the game world - you just go back to that spot and collect whatever of your belongings were dropped. Space battles are pretty much the only thing killing me at the moment, so I don't panic and just let it happen now.

Shelters are okay, I just prefer Outposts/Transmissions because they can lead to more interesting locals like crashed ships or trading posts, and generally an alien you can meet. Shelters can be those, but it can also be a building with one multitool upgrade station and that's it. Monoliths are okay if you're into the story of the alien cultures. Some just give you new words, others are like tests to see how you react and then give rewards (upgrades/valuables/multitools).

Unfortunately, no trading. Don't think you can't even meet other players. A guy messaged me saying we were in the same system but I don't remember seeing anyone, or anyone else's name on the discovered by screens.

From what I understand, you can meet other players IF you manage to wind up in the same place, and IF you happen to be on the same server instance.  However, I've not heard of any confirmed cases of this.

I've soured a bit on NMS. Next time I play it I need to spend an hour or two just farming for credits because my storage situation kind of sucks. So instead I decided to finally play Witcher 3 expansions. Blood and Wine has been fantastic, not even halfway through the main questline of that, though.

And now other stuff is popping up everything. Battlefield 1 beta is out. Deus Ex is out. Journey's going to PS+. Forza Horizon is going to Xbox Gold. Fallout 4 Nuka World is out. I just don't have time for all of this at the moment, and it sucks because I know there's so much awesome stuff I can't get to yet.

And then soon, it's Gears 4 time, which I will probably play nothing but for a month or two.
