Title: Who Is....
Post by: Abram Adams on June 29, 2015, 07:11:30 am
Who is the best character you paid close attention throughout the entire history of this fed? Now I am not talking about your own character, because lets face it, everyone here can go on and on about how much they love one of their own characters. I am talking about another persons character, whose work have you admired or still admire so much that you just flat out love their character and cant wait to read more? For me, and im not just saying this because he's still around by its the truth, my favorite character throughout this fed is Jakob Hystaria. I followed him thoroughly and the only time I didnt was when I left for 2 years and there is an entire chapter that I feel I missed out on the legacy of Jakob Hystaria. Everytime I read the character I just saw him surrounded by the color green, in more meanings than one, and just this nonchalant attitude about the things around him. Always thriving on having a good time first but making sure business gets taken care of, the too cool for school attitude mixed in with the no rules applied lifestyle made for a great character arc. There was really no emotional depth for Jakob Hystaria which is not a bad thing, alot of characters come to that point where some form of sorrow or heartache brings them down to a more serious tone but Jakob kept the party going always. Even when times got tough and things became too serious he managed to slip in a few puns and jokes here and there that were insulting to who he was referring to yes, but at the same time those given puns ensured you that everything did have a silver lining, and in some weird way things were going to be alright. From the epic battles to the astounding alliances Jakob Hystaria was and remains my favorite WWG character. Now, lets see if Kalib can match up  ;D

This is a good one, I have a couple who i like well three really Wretched Nobody, Man oh man can Scott write away but its his consistency he does when he writes and tells a very good story all the way through.

Rayven, Another one that loves to write long role plays but it's still quality, She's like an inbetween face and heel character, One day she's nice as pie the other day she's a nasty little ****, But boy Jim can make it work and make it work he does.

Finally Trine Larsen, From a women that before she joined WWG had never watched or seen wrestling before this girl can do some outstanding work. I'm just surprised she hasn't become world champion yet but I'm sure she will be sooner rather than later.

I've got two, and let me preface this with I hate you both because you write **** novels.  Every week.

Wretched Nobody - The guy is a **** onion with how many layers he's got, it's always interesting to see what's going to come next from him.

Abram - Started off with just this really interesting character idea, and he's morphed into something I didn't quite expect when he first showed up.  Makes me wonder what's coming next.

Honorable mention:

Derrick Trotter - Your **** is funny, and this heel turn has turned up something new in your work.  Keep it up.

Trine Larsen - We've been friends how long now?  And yea, this is all my fault, you didn't know **** about wrestling before I got you to join up here, and now you're trying to beat me to training in real life, lol.

Ughhh this is so hard. I honestly really like everyone's characters because they all bring a little something different to the story of WWG that I think is amazing. I read every rp, I just feel like it would be rude not to- since they spend the time writing for us to enjoy. So, I can't say I follow anyone more closely than anyone else.

Eddie Hayes and Titan were my all time favourites. AND THEN DAVE DECIDED HE WASN'T WRITING THEM ANYMORE!!! >8Y I loved their friendship, their fights, their reunion, Eddie's suprise bf- but mostly it was the little tiny details. I think it adds a lot of depth to a character when the writer brings the normal- everyday to our attention. Like Titan's personal struggle with expressing himself in english- so he tended to switch to greek. And how they would have full conversations with Eddie speaking english and Titan speaking greek. The fact that Titan was an angry drunk. Eddie liked to get coffee at hipster cafes and liked to sit at outside tables. They both had these little quirks and there were so many I'd be here all day- but those were my favourite ones. I like that little detail because each little detail makes up a complex person. Do they have a favourite pair of sneakers? Weird habits? Coffee with two sugars? A favourite song? Sing in the shower- those tiny details are what turn "just a character/personality" into a person. Dave nailed that **** with those two. I will miss them </3

As for my most followed new guy;

This might be a shocker, but I honestly am totally smitten with Alligator Man's first person narrative because it's new and an interesting way to tell a story. It was a very smart move because it makes me feel familiar with, attached to, him if only because I am seeing his story through Luke's eyes. And the guy shows up! I noticed last card prediction everyone was like "I pick so and so because they won't no-show" But he has showed up for every card. I think he that credit was due.

I really don't think I have favorites. I read every Rp. It's like watching the show, you have to know what's happening in each little section of show or you miss the big picture. That being said I look forward to Abram Adams Rps. I wait and read them on my lunch break at work. I enjoy The Wretched Nobody, and I personally would love tho kill Grace Brutal. I'm enjoying Derrick Trotters Heel turn.

New Guy is a rough one. I'm waiting to see who catches my eye.

I really have to think about this one. So many great story lines, so many awesome characters. Like Zony I try to read everyone's RPs. Great story lines from Richardson and Carr to The Sheik's take over, they always kept me on the edge of my seat. If I had to look deep to remember what characters I made a point to look at first, I could narrow it down to two.

First has to be Slipshod. Not only because Sean gave me big ups, but because it was so random but well written, you wanted to see what happened this week. It was almost a show in itself. I will always remember the episode when Slipshod insulted a kid who was a fan. If I remember correctly it was for his first title shot and was very serious and focused. Out of nowhere a kid comes up asking for an autograph and he flips out for breaking his concentration and it was the funniest damn thing I saw at that point. It was for that reason, very difficult for anyone to go up against him, which his record reflected.

The other person I always made a point to read was Barney Green. From day one he always reminded me of a **** Dusty Rhodes. He had two sides in his Rp, an amped up passionent man who wanted nothing more than to prove everyone wrong, at any cost. The other side was a layer back loyal friend to the characters he brought into the promos. He would write in such a way that you weren't reading a promo, but more of a message from the heart. To be honest, it always inspired me in my lowest times to show up each week. If someone could love wrestling that much and relay it in a simple promo, then I could put up some random POS each week.

There are a lot of new characters that I am becoming fans of more and more today, and will no doubly put them up with some of my favorites that where mentioned at first. A secret of mine is I hate almost everything I've done, so you will never see me put my own stuff over someone else because I enjoy reading everyone's stuff that much.

I hate that this is going to sound like a cop-out... and during some staff chats Brad has addressed this exact aspect with me - BUT I am a fan of everyone in their own right because I am a fan of WWG's product.  There are more Handlers I follow closely than actual characters.

Dave is a particular favorite of mine.... I just love his composition and storytelling.

Rite is someone who has peaked a lot of interest including my own but he's done it a lot the same way Marcus has always stolen my attention.  It's with solid, near impeccable writing.

Then I admire men like Chris and Steve R.  These guys don't headline many of our shows... but wtf would a main event be without a good cast to carry us to a big finish?  Both have improved immensely in the time I've known them and both represent a faction of fedding that in my 20+ years has hardly ever been given the credit it deserved - feds are built on the backs of reliable handlers who show up and work even if they aren't getting title shots weekly.  Need proof I'm right?  How many handlers have we had here that came in with their pre-fabrication roleplays and run straight for the top only to disappear the instant they lose?

Idk... you tell me what's worth more.  The guy who is willing to be a curtain jerks or midcarder - who becomes a staple and sticks loyal to the fed for years.... or some twat who bails at the first sign of their silver lined cloud coming up into a storm?  I'm just going to say - we could have a fed full of men like this and be great... we'd be dead in the water right up ****'s creek if we pandered to every flash in the pan who filled out a bio.

Then there is Trine.  A wholly different type of character than anything we've had here in my time.  And again as a handler - this lady should have been demanding world title shots Months ago.  What's she do instead?  She beefs up the mustard, she helps build great storylines and she makes her contributions to the WWG product being an overall better brand.

Let's not forget the competitive contingent among us as well.  Without them we wouldn't have title hungry glory hounds who give us all something to work for and ambitions to strive toward.

All in all - I'm just a fan of what we do AND those who do it.  We could criticize writing, spelling and originality - like most feds.  Instead WWG has a community and that community is what keeps this fed rolling forward.  That community is what makes this place "better than the rest" for most of us.

My favourites were Dragon Demonico and L ( :( )

Both great storytellers, great characters, and, not surprisingly, great guys.

Nowadays, I don't read as much of the RPs as I used too - between working, other reading, my own writing, and some other hobbies I don't talk about, I don't have a lot of time for it. Hopefully that's something I can fix over the next month since I'm currently out of work, but I also hope to amp up writing.

My current favourites, therefore, are a little hard to pinpoint. I like Trine, who really throws away a lot of the bullshit that litters other people's writing and just focuses on character. Scott's Nobody is great, too, but sometimes he gets a little too long-winded in his promos for me, much the same as he did with Scott Carr. And I really appreciate the guys that struggle to win, but keep coming back, and having fun while doing it. If I'd had that attitude when I was younger, maybe I'd have turned out to be a less cynical person.

If you think I'm long winded in a promo... you should hear me on Fajitas night!

I take it the wind goes both ways. What are you brewing in that stomach? Can it only be described as a hellspawn of gas and verbosity?

Ask me a few days ago I'd have a direct answer but now seeing these rps come in I can honestly say this is the most competition and most diverse roster we've ever had. Dare I say probaby strongest roster to date as well. From top to bottom I don't think their is a "weak" writer tbh!
