Title: This weekend for Wrestling
Post by: J-Dub on November 16, 2016, 05:48:22 am
Ok, so this seems to be a pretty big weekend for wrestling!

Sadly though, this past weekend with Joey Styles being fired for off comments in Evolve, that will be interesting to see who replaces him at shows.

With NXT and Survivor Series, let us talk about these two shows:

Predictions
Expectations
Hates
Possible Failures
Possible Surprises

I predict Kevin Owens has a wardrobe malfunction - and a nip slip exposes his whole left manboob.

NXT TAKEOVER: DALLAS

Bobby Roode vs. Tye Dillinger
- I actually like the improvement in Tye Dillinger, but I can't see Roode losing anytime soon!

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals:
The Authors of Pain vs. TM-61
- This is a tough one for me, I love the throw back feel of Authors of Pain and the really good in the ring.  TM-61 is a great team as well.  I just can't see a heel team winning the Dusty Classic.

2 of 3 Falls for the NXT Tag Team Titles:
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa vs. The Revival
- Here is where I see the heel picking up the win, even though I believe Gargano and Ciampa should win the belts here, I think there going to break up here.  I think the Revival should be heading to TV, they've done everything in NXT now.

NXT Women’s Title Match:
Mickie James vs. Asuka
- This is an easy pick for me, Asuka is not dropping the belt.  I really just want to see the match and how it plays out between the two.

NXT Title Match:
Samoa Joe vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
- I predict blood in this match, leading to a Nakamura win.  I think this is one of Joe's last matches in NXT and will cement Nakamura as the top guy in NXT.

For Takeover:
Roode - to set up as Nakamura's next challenger.
AoP - see below
DIY - Revival need to move on soon and have no real face teams left to go against. DIY will win so they can have Revival's rematch, then matches with AoP and Sanity over the next few months.
Asuka - no brainer.
Nakamura - I also see it being one of Joe's last, with a debut the next night at Survivor Series perhaps possible. Nak will hold the title for a while long, maybe eventually dropping to ACA.

For Survivor Series:
Lesnar - because Goldberg will be done afterwards and for some reason they think Lesnar needs all these high profile matches when the rub could go to someone must better.
Miz - see below
Kendrick - these two could be switched for Sami/Kalisto, but I don't tihnk they're going to swap the divisions.
Team RAW (Women) - because the SD women are treated like second class
Team SD (Tag) - because the new jobbers the Club will cause friction and have yet another match against New Day because they have no idea what else to do.
Team SD (Men) - because KO will not work with Roman Reigns

I actually see the Cruiserweights moving ONLY because the 205 gimmick is going on after SD and it is Live, in the same arena, so that is why I feel that Kalisto will win that one.

It's possible but if it happens I think the IC title will stay on SD. I don't see Raw having Universal, US and IC at the same time.

WWE Cruiserweight Title Match:
Champion Brian Kendrick vs. Kalisto
- I just can't see them taking the division away from Raw which is 3 hours, to Smackdown which 2 hours.  Unless this 205 live thing is going to be an actual show NXT.   PS...where is Neville?

WWE Intercontinental Title Match:
Champion The Miz vs. Sami Zayn
- There shouldn't be two mid card champions on either show.

Survivor Series Tag Teams Match:
Team Smackdown Live Heath Slater, Rhyno, Hype Bros, American Alpha, The Usos & Tyler Breeze & Fandango vs. Team Raw Enzo Amore and Big Cass, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, The Shining Stars, Cesaro and Sheamus, and New Day
- Better teams on Smackdown.  Last Teams Standing: American Alpha & Cesaro/Sheamus American Alpha get the win.

Survivor Series Women’s Match:
Team Smackdown Live Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella, Carmella, Alexa Bliss & Naomi (w/coach Natalya) vs. Team Raw Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Nia Jax, Alicia Fox & Sasha Banks
- This makes it tied 2-2 going into the men's match.  Plus, smackdown women still have a lot to prove.  Last Women Standing: Bayley, Charlotte & Nikki  Nikki pins Charlotte, Bayley gets the win.

Survivor Series Men’s Match:
Team Raw (Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho & Braun Strowman & Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins) vs. Team Smackdown Live (AJ Styles & Randy Orton & Dean Ambrose & Shane McMahon & Bray Wyatt)
- This tough but I'll go with Smackdown to win.   Last Man standing Dean Ambrose.

Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg
- Self-explanatory

whats the 205 gimmick?
205 live, new show on the Network, recorded at Smackdown tapings and airing directly after Smackdown, featuring only the cruiserweight division

So the biggest, meanest, most antisocial and hateful motherfucker on the roster gets taken out quick by a relative "goodie goodie" type face - and he loses in a squash match that lasted less than the length of time it took the competition to enter the ring...

Oh for the moment when you watch WWE and suddenly realize WWG did it first.
