I'm not really a football fan (my favourite game is AFL, and I don't have time for anything else during the season) but I did just get up at 7:30 on a Saturday morning for the Aussies first game, so... we'll see. Maybe if there's some heavily promoted games I might make the early start and who knows, might actually become a fan by the end of it.

Just looked up the score... 5-1 Netherlands? What the? I thought Spain were supposed to be like second favourites or something...

Yeahh they're even the defending champions from the last World Cup. Although tbf Netherlands did come second in that one so it was bound to be a great match lol. Spain should've started with Torres and Fabregas, they'd have stood a better chance that way I think. Every match so far had been pretty controversial, looks like it'll be an interesting tournament this time round

All I really know is Australia are a pretty weak team, and we have Spain and Netherlands in our group, so we're pretty much **** straight away.

Dw if tonight proved anything it's that any match is unpredictable so far. Although judging by this match you might be right about the socceroos chances D:

It only took 15 minutes, but that's pretty much it. I need to pick someone else to back for the rest of the tournament.

I'd suggest England but I doubt we'll be making it out of the group stages either tbh... My money's on Argentina this time round if I'm honest

Before this morning I was gonna be backing Spain to make it all the way again, now I'm not so sure. Maybe I should jump on the Netherlands while they're hot.
Also, go Timmy Cahill!

Haha the only time I want to root for Spain is if Fabregas is playing, and never for Netherlands since they're such dirty players. I'm still not over de Jong's tackle against Xabi Alonso in the last world cup Still looking good for Australia I guess
