Forging Friendships (Lacey Character Development)

[The Rick]

[Our scene opens with Lacey Rain standing outside a gym. This is not "The Dragon's Lair" in Newark. This gym looks far more inviting, probably because Eddy Johnson didn't decorate it. Lacey is on her phone, chatting away as she pulls her hoodie up tighter to cover her from the rain.]

Lacey: "I'm here babe... I know you said I should find a sparring partner who isn't you but are you sure about this? Given your history with their trainer I don't think this is going to go well."

[Lacey stops, and is listening intently as the voice on the other end of the call speaks. Lacey replies as the other person finishes and the muffled noise ends.]

Lacey: "Yeah, I've got a six pack of Guinness for him!"

[More muffled noises, Lacey doesn't look impressed.]

Lacey: "I really hope he's not here though. Last time I saw him, he started reminiscing about that time he beat you up at the Bullring!"

[Again the person on the other side of the line speaks. Lacey seems to finally stop her protest.]

Lacey: "OK baby, I'll promise not to give any attitude. Yes, if he mentions the Bullring I'll remind him that he almost died after your match and he's obviously not in that good shape! Babe, it'll be fine honestly. I'm here to talk to her anyway. I just hope she's as nice as she seems on the TV. I'll be back at the hotel in a few hourse... A coupleathree tops... I love you!"

[Lacey ends her call to her husband, and goes to open the door when it opens from the other side. An attractive young lady with bright pink hair steps out and gives Lacey a glance up and down before heading off down the street.]

Lacey: "Was that who I think it was?"

[Lacey walks into the gym, and places her gym bag down on the desk as she starts talking to one of the employees.]

Lacey: "Lacey Rain, my husband set me up a meeting with..."

Employee: "That's all fine Mrs. H. They're waiting for you."

[Lacey's not used to being called Mrs. H, but hearing that "they" are waiting has confused her a little.]

Lacey: "They?"

Employee: "Please, just go through that door there."

[The employee motions down a corridor to a door at the end of it. Lacey nods to thank her and picks up her gym bag. Walking down the corridor Lacey recognises some of the photographs from events she was in attendance of. She knocks at the door once she reaches it, noticing it is slightly open.]

Lacey: "Hello?"

[Nobody answers probably due to the extremely loud Paramore songs playing on an iPod in the room, Lacey takes a breath and decides to go in.]

Lacey: "Oh well, here goes nothing. I just hope Rick hasn't been pranked and this falls on it's arse."

[Lacey walks through the door, and is impressed by the facilities. They may not be the state of the art multimillion dollar franchises you get, but it puts Eddy's place to shame, even after it had a refurbishment. Lacey notices a guy and a blonde girl working out near a wrestling ring and walks over. It's instantly obvious to the viewer who the girl is as Lacey is stunned by how beautiful this girl is close up. It's Trine Larsen, and she's chatting with Leif O'Neil. Lacey extends her hand and goes to introduce herself.]

Lacey: "Ms. Larsen, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

[Scene fades out.]
