Chris walks up to the Baton Rouge River Center Arena in Louisiana he looks how big it is and feels a little imtimidated on how huge the arena looks after all he only wrestled in front of a few hundred or so fans back in the UK. Chris walks through the main entrance, He goes to the reception area not knowing exactly what to do or who to ask for. Chris gets to the reception desk and pretty blond female receptionist sits there and looks up at Chris who is looking a little puzzled.
Can I help you sir? She ask’s him in a friendly voice smiling at the same time as she speaks to him.
Chris puts down his old Adidas gym bag he had over his shoulder and looks at the young women in front of him.
Er, Yeah hopefully, I just signed a contract with World Wrestling Generation they told me to come to the arena and asked me to meet them here at the arena, So I assumed it would be here at the reception desk, But as you can see know one is here to greet me.
Ah right, You must be Chris? She asks politely, Please wait one moment sir!
She picks up the phone and dials a number.
Yes, Hello, This is reception I have a new signee here with me, She waits for the reply and answers in a calm voice.
OK, I will send him straight through. She puts the phone down and smiles at Chris.
Ok Licious will see you shortly but you have to go down to his office, she points to a door that says backstage. You go through that door and walk straight down the corridor get to the end and turn right, Follow that corridor to the end turn left and you're there. Oh and please knock on the door, He can be a bit funny like that.
Chris smiles and nods at the receptionist and heads through the door he walks down and see’s a couple of backstage crew running around back and forth getting tonight's show ready. He walks past a door that is half open and hears a commotion a belly full of noise. He pops his head round and sees five men laughing and joking. They all have Dell’s Rangers t-shirts on them. Mike Conrad notices Chris he walks up to him shoves him out of the room and slams the door in his face. Chris looks annoyed but bits his lip.
One day kid. He mutters to himself.
He carries on down the corridor and a man with a microphone walks up to him Chris stops and looks at the man and who smiles at Chris.
Ah new blood in the company, Hi my name is Matt Thomas I’m the ring announcer around here, And just who you might be?
Matt shoves the microphone in his face a little too closely and catches Chris in the mouth Chris steps back a little, Ouch, He screeches and gives a stern look at Matt Thomas.
I’m sorry, I’m sorry he apologizes to Chris quickly expecting a good kick in but Chris smiles and puts his arm round the veteran.
That’s ok mate, I’m Chris, I just signed for WWG, I’m head down to Licious office but can’t find it.
Matt smiles and gives a huge sigh of relief, Listen you don’t want to go him, He’s what we call an A hole you need to see Frederick Kavanagh, He’s the good guy round here, Listen I will walk you to his door, You seem alright to me.
OK Matt, Chris drops his arm round the back of Matt Thomas and smiles st him.
OK mate, your the boss,
They walk down a few corridors and come across a Door no name plaque on there just a plain old wooden door.
Knock on there and wait for an answer Matt says to Chris, And good luck, It’s great to have a friendly face round here.
Chris smiles, Cheers man, Catch ya laters. He replies, Chris knocks on the door and waits for a reply, He waits for a few seconds and hears a muffled voice.
Come on in.
Chris opens the door and sitting down at the desk is Frederick Kavanagh he looks up and smiles at the new kid on the block.
Yes, how can I help you? He asks in a friendly voice.
Chris turns round and closes the door, He places his gym bag on the floor and looks at Frederick.
Hi, I’ve just signed a contract with WWG and was told by the receptionist to go to see Licious I couldn’t find the him but bumped into Matt Thomas and he suggested I came and see you instead. Chris waits for answer and Frederick smiles and leans back in his chair and offers a seat to Chris who sits down.
Good job you bumped into Matt Thomas, He’s a good lad, Right so what can I expect from you?
Well, I’m here to compete, I’m don’t want to be in mid card obscurity I want to be involved in great story lines, title matches and generally I’m here to kick some ass.
Frederick listens on intently to what Chris is saying. Go on, He answer’s.
I’ve done my homework, I know you’re trying to gain control of the company, I just played dumb with Matt just to see what side he was on, Listen you want me to do anything for you to gain my trust just ask. You want me to take someone out of commission, Just ask, Sure i’m not the biggest of dudes but trust me when I say this, I aint scared of anyone. Doesn't matter how big they are or how small they are, Man or women, If they get in me face there going to find out what Chris is all about.
Chris waits for an answer from Frederick as he has his arm bent holding his chin and listens with interest.
We have got things to discuss young Chris, Frederick leans forward.
I can see great things happening for you Chris, But you know that when you're with me you will get enemies for all sides, Not everyone will like you, Not everyone will be as nice as me or Matt Thomas. It can and will be very hard but the rewards you will get will be great and very satisfying.
Chris looks up at Frederick, Tell me more.
