A Move for the Best

The scene opens with Trine Larson pinning Mike in the Carnage main event as the crowd erupts in a sound wall of cheers that rain down on the ring.  Mewes can feel the mat shaking violently from the crowd.  As the camera remains on him lying motionless in the center of the ring, sweat glistening off of his body in the bright lights hanging high in the rafters, a voice can be heard.  That voice is the voice of Kai Shepard saying “maybe he should concentrate on his in ring ability” as well as other comments he had made regarding Mewes.  As Kai’s voice fades, another voice begins to speak and this cold, emotionless voice is none other than Marcus Collins referring to Detroit as a “dead city”.  Suddenly, a whirl wind of voices swirl around in his head like the I-5 at rush hour, then almost as fast as they were moving in his mind the voices stop and the screen cuts to black.


Mike blinks his eyes rapidly as he wakes up in his apartment, the plain, dull, white ceiling is the first image he sees.  He lets out a loud groan as he is still feeling the after effects from his main event the night before, the pain running like a river through his entire body.  Oh well, he has learned that in this business you sacrifice your body on a regular basis, but, this pain was different.  It was as if someone stabbed him in the stomach, twisting the knife around his abdomen.  Things had not gone exactly the way Mike had envisioned his WWG career would start.  After two quick wins he had hit a speed bump and although he has his title, or as he likes to call it “his PhD in bad assery, the King of ****, his inexperience and lack of training has caught up to him.  He could disguise his weaknesses more transparently on the independent circuit because they were small time regional promotions, this, this is the big time. 

Mikey, you sexy ****…I think it’s time to move on.  Your gym is closing, this town is dying.  If you are going to become the best in the world you need to perfect your in ring ability.  It’s time to visit an old friend……

The raunchy stench of marijuana, the skunky aroma fills the smoke infested Grand Torino.  His bags are all packed, it’s the beginning of a new era of sorts, a major paradigm shift in the career of the sexy one.

It’s a long way to Philly…….
