Anyone else see the WWE has created a UK title and may start its own UK "brand" like 205? The title is pretty sweet looking, I don't know how I feel about it thought, because its like there are so many things going on, it almost cheapens the other titles they have. Your thoughts?

Is there enough talent to have a UK title?

If there making titles why not bring back the **** title?

I heard BnB may be returning so they probably want to slap a belt on him.  Not that WWE is horrifically racist like that limiting characters from certain regions to certain titles or anything.... (It's Archetypes not stereotypes!! Naw it's just racist stereotypes)

To an extent I do agreee they have a lot of belts floating around but they also have a lot of the worlds top talent in the business too so it's a matter of Need more than Want in my mind.  They Need a larger ladder of success so as to make the Universal title have more prestige and to keep sacred (as much as they're ever going to be) all the other titles too.

I think they are trying to scramble to make more original programming so they can raise the pricing of the network. With NXT success and 205 getting pretty good ratings, this may be a decent push. I also saw that in the next couple of weeks the WWE will be doing a MASSIVE hiring, pretty much anyone who has talent, that wants to come over, is welcome. So the numbers game could possible be answered soon.

Also the whisper on the wind... yup.... I heard that they may be doing a woman's tournament soon like the Cruiserweight classic, and possibly starting a extension woman's division outside of the main roster, as a developmental ordeal, like what RoH did.

Vince is panicking that World of Sports will become a huge hit in the UK, which it has every chance of doing. WWE's ratings in the UK are very poor, so it wouldn't take much, and World of Sports is going to be on a big channel. That said, it sounds to be like they will be a very short tournament that'll go on the network for a few episodes, and then the UK title will be defended at non-WWE UK events. They're not going to set up a brand to run just in the UK when they've already got three brands running in the States.

Furthermore, the 16 guys in the tournament are NOT signed by WWE, and WCPW has stated that they've been told that anyone in the tournament can still work for other promotions (https://twitter.com/WhatCulturePW/status/809425113573707776).

This is more than just a tournament, but less than a new brand. It's a way to stay competitive in the UK, and competitiveness brings out the best in WWE. Vince always works better when he's scared.

Plus, that title is sexy as ****.

I agree completely, but that is also how the CWC started out as well. Sucks the link didn't attach properly I was hoping it was going to mash up but everyone can search it. Of course, knowing Vince, he will offer anyone a contract to those who want it. PR already put out they are going to do that, and if they get a big push, I already read and heard from "insiders" what ever that means, that they are looking for more wrestling based shows for the network so if it could make money, I could see them contracting a small crew to set up shop in the UK and maybe one day finally build that European office he's always wanted.

Yeah apparently HHH said that "The hope is it becomes its own weekly show, based out of the U.K., with U.K. talent. Those talents will still be able to perform within the [independent companies] RevPros, ICWs and Progress’s."

To me that sounds like what the CWC was, with exhibition matches also happened in RevPro or Evolve. But since cruiserweights went to Raw, and particularly 205 live, everyone is now on an exclusive contract - which is something we really don't want to happen. If you can have an independent styled WWE promotion in UK, it could be great.

But on the flip side, I don't suddenly want to see an Asian championship, a Mexican championship, or whatever. That feels like monopolising. Those systems could be great at bringing main talent into WWE, and elevating the Raw and SD brands as the absolute pinnacle, but at the same time you could have a situation where guys like Fenix or Marty Scurll are on top of their "promotions" before getting called up to WWE to fight... Bo Dallas. Or Jinder Mahal.

I think developing people all around the world is a good idea. But I'm not sure if this is the way to do it. But hey, more value for money for my network subscription, and easier ways to see some of these guys is very welcome.

And I think that is what it is, and sadly, being the WWE, I can see something like global regional titles popping up like that over the next 10 years. US turns into North American, South American, UK is extended to all of Europe, Asian, Australian and friends and have them use those areas as a talent scout sort of thing. Use open wrestling contract like NXT does sometimes, TNA does, ect. If they do it right, they could rewrite the rules of what the IC title could be.

This is just fantasy booking and in no way have I even heard of anyone mention this anywhere, so if it happens I'm a freaking genius lol. If they do go truly global, they can have those in the regions take that regional championship ok. Then say, that champion would like to make more money and go global. WWE rewrites their own business platform to have an actual global set up. So say this champion (or champions) challenges for the IC title, and thus gives a secondary purpose for that title, and maybe have it defended in more overseas events, as I feel it should be, just "like" when Pat Patterson "won" it to begin with. It is monopolizing the business to a point, but I also know that Vince is always wanting to bring more to the business as a whole, and this is his way to try and bring notice to other small organizations that other places may never heard of. Not to mention, to set himself apart as a whole from all the other companies. He doesn't hold anyone down, but still wants to show his superiority in the industry.
