Typically I felt that we pushed each other so hard, that other feds don't keep up, and thus people become snipy because you come in with solid RPs. So I personally retired from doing all that. Cards:

Takeover: San Antonio
NXT Championship: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Bobby Roode
NXT Women's Championship: Asuka (c) vs. Nikki Cross vs. Billie Kay vs. Peyton Royce
NXT Tag Team Championship: DIY (c) vs. Authors of Pain
Eric Young vs. Tye Dillinger
Andrade "Cien" Almas vs. Roderick Strong

Royal Rumble Preshow
WWE RAW Tag Team Championship: Sheamus & Cesaro (c) vs. Gallows & Anderson
Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax
Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella & Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss, Mickie James & Natalya

Royal Rumble
Royal Rumble Match (Announced competitors: 22/30, RAW: Big Cass, Big E, Big Show, Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Goldberg, Kofi Kingston, Rusev, Sami Zayn, Sheamus, Undertaker, Xavier Woods. SmackDown: Baron Corbin, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Luke Harper, The Miz, Mojo Rawley, Randy Orton.
WWE Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. John Cena
WWE Universal Championship: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Roman Reigns
WWE Raw Women's Championship: Charlotte (c) vs. Bayley
WWE Cruiserweight Champiosnhip: Rich Swann (c) vs. Neville

So, who's excited? Should be a great weekend of matches. Obviously the NXT card is a little underwhelming at the moment, but I feel like everyone involved is at least capable of producing a good quality match, even if we don't get any MOTY contenders. At the Rumble, I expect Styles/Cena to blow everything else away, but hopefully Swann/Neville gets the time and reactions they deserve. Could not care less about Owens/Reigns or Charlotte/Bayley though. The Rumble itself is so stacked, and with 8 unannounced competitors (Rollins probably finds a way in, couple of NXT guys that don't have a chance, maybe RVD gets a one shot deal) it certainly feels like anything could happen, but the pessimist in me says it'll be won by a guy that doesn't need a Rumble win on their resume. Regardless, it's the freakin' Rumble, and it should be entertaining.

Cards:

Takeover: San Antonio
NXT Championship:
Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Bobby Roode - Can't see him losing here

NXT Women's Championship:
Asuka (c) vs. Nikki Cross vs. Billie Kay vs. Peyton Royce - See Above

NXT Tag Team Championship:
DIY (c) vs. Authors of Pain - I think the money is in the chase for DIY

Eric Young vs. Tye Dillinger - I just like the gimmick Eric Young has going, and Dillinger needs a fued for the next Takeover during Mania weekend.

Andrade "Cien" Almas vs. Roderick Strong - Strong is new, and Almas hasn't caught y eye yet.

Royal Rumble Preshow
WWE RAW Tag Team Championship:
Sheamus & Cesaro (c) vs. Gallows & Anderson - If not now then when

Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax

Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella & Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss, Mickie James & Natalya - Mickie pins Becky

Royal Rumble
Royal Rumble Match (Announced competitors: 22/30, RAW: Big Cass, Big E, Big Show, Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Goldberg, Kofi Kingston, Rusev, Sami Zayn, Sheamus, Undertaker, Xavier Woods. SmackDown: Baron Corbin, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Luke Harper, The Miz, Mojo Rawley, Randy Orton. - Really unpredictable, second choice would be Orton.

WWE Championship:
AJ Styles (c) vs. John Cena - Cena Wins lol

WWE Universal Championship:
Kevin Owens (c) vs. Roman Reigns - Wishful Thinking

WWE Raw Women's Championship:
Charlotte (c) vs. Bayley - DQ

WWE Cruiserweight Champiosnhip:
Rich Swann (c) vs. Neville - Adds credibility

I'm very excited for the shows this weekend.  I think this is probably the weakest NXT Takeover card hype and name wise.  So, I think it's either going to be really good or really meh.  There either going to make stars or NXT will seem like it's on the decline.  I'm excited for the rumble because there are a lot of possiblities that we can see happen.  One of the most unpredictable WWE cards in awhile.

I haven't watched NXT in a while, so I'll probably just pick up w/ Takeover and see if they can re-hold my interest from there.  It's kinda a shame, because they have a lot of talent I like (Shinsuke, Asuka, Roode, Young), but they went on a bit of a slump and lost me for a bit.

As for the Rumble, it's kinda exciting to not have a clear-cut pre-planned winner for the big match for a change.  It really is anyone's match to win, so between that and the 8 unannounced spots, this could be really entertaining.  (Is this the year Kurt Angle finally returns in the Rumble?)  As for the rest of the RR card?  Meh... AJ/Cena -could- be good, maybe.  But why is my girl Alexa relegated to a pre-show non-title 6 woman snoozefest?

I think the Takeover card is one of the most unpredictable they've ever had. I can see arguments for everyone winning every match. Hopefully tonight is the first step of the NXT rebuild.

Dillinger/Young ***
Almas/Strong ****
DIY/AOP ***1/2
Asuka/Cross/Kay/Royce ***
Nakamura/Roode ***

That main event was one of the worst Nakamura matches I've seen. 15 minutes of trash from Roode, a fantastic five minute stretch, then an injury angle that sucked all momentum out of the match and invalidated the entire 20 minutes before it.

On the flip side, Almas/Strong was a fantastic fight from start to finish. High energy, hard hitting, some brutal spots, and all in half the time. Proof that longer doesn't mean better. I suspect tomorrow's AJ/Cena match will go longer than 30 minutes, hopefully there's none of the **** from this main event. Roode is a pretty okay wrestler, but he can't work a main event, never has been able to. Kind of can't believe he's meme'd his way to the title, but then again, Trump meme'd his way to a presidency, so I don't know why I'm surprised.

Dillinger/Young ***
- This was a good match with a story line coming in, it could be Tye's last match in NXT so that could be a bummer.

Almas/Strong ***
- This was a great match, but I thought is was lacking story.  I just never really got into the match emotionally.  I think helped get each guys moveset over.  Really fast paced, no real dry spots. Felt like an ROH match.

DIY/AOP ****
- I really loved this match and it sold me on DIY.  These guys are great wrestlers and were able to get AOP over well in the match.  A really fantastic tag team match.  I'm smelling a three-way tag with Revival Wrestlemania.

Asuka/Cross/Kay/Royce **1/2
- Maybe the most meh match of the night.  It wasn't given a lot of time.  There were some high spots in the match.  I think they kept Asuka and  Nikki Cross apart for a program later on. Royce hit a nice Widow's Peak.

Nakamura/Roode ****
- I guess this is where I'm going to disagree with some. I really enjoyed this match.  I thought is well laid out, like an old wrestling match.  I don't see the hate for Roode, he works like an old school heel (i.e. Flair, Dibiase, Hennig).  I like this match better than every match Joe and Nakamura had.

I thought it was a good show, it didn't feel like a takeover going in, but I definitely thought it lived up to the name by the end.  I didn't think anything was terrible on the show

They did an injury angle so people would stop asking that question.

My last minute predictions:

Cesaro & Sheamus
Sasha Banks
Becky, Nikki, Naomi

Neville
Charlotte
Owens
Cena
Rumble: eh, probably Orton. Hoping for Balor or Wyatt.

How **** dumb can they be with Roman Reigns. Like wow, literally retarded. Let's get him over by eliminating three of the final five that people actually want to see win.

On the plus side, Orton/Wyatt has been a lock for WM for a while, so I guess that means Bray's gonna win the Elimination Chamber

So Cena's only gonna hold the title for a month?

And yea, I agree.  That Roman bullshit was just....exactly that.  Bullshit.
